The building code puts a number on this and most yards in Sacramento miss it. The ground has to fall six inches in the first ten feet away from the foundation, and any concrete inside that ten feet has to slope at least two percent away from the wall.
When a yard is dead flat, or worse, when it falls back toward the slab, every winter pushes water at the foundation. It is why grading is the first line on our quote and the last thing anyone else brings up.

What does a quote cost?
Nothing. Simple projects get a number over the phone, and anything that needs measuring gets a free walkthrough. Either way you know the price before any work starts.
Can one visit cover several projects?
That is the whole point of one crew. Give us the full list and we quote it as one job on one schedule. Bundling almost always beats hiring each trade separately, because you are paying for one mobilisation instead of four.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, and the builder above tells you which parts of your list need one before you even call. A permit changes the schedule, not just the paperwork, because permitted work is gated by inspections. Plan review on a standard residential job in Sacramento runs about two to four weeks, so we start the unpermitted work while that is moving.
